unless its a team game and it'll help my ally, i won't scuttle till u have destroyed everything i have. tho once in a cata 2v2 when i got a n00b ally (he died real fast) i managed to kill every enemy worker except 1 and then allowed them to hit a crystal near me to kill me faster.... but since they had no workers it took them FOREVER to kill me so i just quit cause it would have taken a long time to kill me =\

scuttling
Firstly - welcome to HW BG. Nice to see you around, and I hope you enjoy your sentance.....
Nextly, scuttling. I think scuttles are fine in ladder games, as a ladder game is about winning, and if either myself or my opponent scuttles, I feel it's an admission of defeat, and they just don't want to drag it out for hours.
Scuttling in skilled multi player games is always done for tactical reasons, as the player that scuttles stays in game and talks anyway. I have no problem with that either. It's a tactic.
Newbies scuttling or quitting when you play them is probably the second most irritating thing, which is why is why I've now started putting *skilled* at the end of my game names.
However the most irritating thing, is when someone joins that game, and you just KNOW they're not skilled, and you say - "excuse me - I don't mean to be rude, but are you skilled? It's no fun for either of us if you're not" and they get abusive and talk about how good they are, so you sigh and think ok.... If they say so.... and then you attack them and they accuse you of cheating cos they have 12 ships and you have about 60. (nice...6 research ships...that should come in handy, perhaps you can reserach if there's life after death), or they just quit when their collectors are dead....
So there.Last edited by shutupandshave; 12-01-2001, 16:22.
