imagine the amazing games that are gonna come off this engine...
quake 4 is confirmed, but i would imagine jedi knight 3, rtcw 2, maybe even half life 2? UT has a new engine as well, but it doesnt look anything like this. imagine looking at images like this holding a f'n lightsaber smacking down some sith master? if you havent seen a video of the engine in action, i suggest u go look for it now, caus its nothing like you've ever seen in a computer game before. it makes the quake 3 engine look like pong.
apparently, the MP won't be much to talk about caus they said they spent all their time on the engine/single player. they are only shipping deathmatch with the release, but i guess there could be a multiplayer expansion at some stage.
2.2 Ghz Processor (most likely a P4)
ATi card (Likely the next-generation R300. If not, then the 8500)
Apparently the game will run at 30fps on a Gforce 3 set to 1024x768 @ 32 bit colour, which is playable.
i guess an upgrade will be in order for most people if they want to play it but even though the system specs will be prohibitive for alot of ppl, its gotta happen some time. consider this to be like the transition to digital television - its a bit elitist at first, but soon enough everyone will have it.
i shudder to think of the tweaks ppl are gonna do to it in order to play it competitively (especially on lower-end boxes). Attack of the blobmonsters anyone?
