i recon the either the newreply.php has icon1 defaulted on or as the reply text is escaped, some wierd combination of chars is interpreted as the message icon1 (throw the uploaded text string into a new browser window instead of the db to check if the probs in newreply). I'd also check out showthread.php for a fucked up conditional statement and the actual text held in the db...
