HW2 ladder

ok i know a few of you have seen that octo has set up or will in the future, set up a ladder, i also know what the general feeling about that is , but what i would like in this thread is not flaming of oct but honest suggestions for the ladder,

i understand people who don;'t like oct i know ALOT of people who don't like him, and i also understnd that the homeworld people would of course what some of their own on the admin staff (i am currectly disscussing this with oct)

....But oct has set up the ladder and as i am sure you are all familiar with the case system the admin staff have very little to do with the day to day running of the ladder. i know frst is worried about oct making rules that apply to him if he joined the ladder, again i can understand this. But may be we should give this a try in a constructive manner rather than a destructive manner. The last ting anyone wants when HW2 comes out (if they ever finish the dam game) is for the HWC and the HW1 people to be at each others throats over a ladder.

as i have said in another thread, i have heard good things about frst and in general about FL, i would like to see all clans in HW2 on the one ladder, as then i can beat you all and be crowned king j/k , but joking aside i would like to hear your thoughts on this...and hopefully some suggestions i can take to the table

(oh by the way i like organising tourneys so you will be seeing alot more of me when HW2 comes out)

I don't think that the hwc and hw people will fight in the ladder and in general on hw2.

My root problem is octothorpe's continued presumptuousness and refusal to provide harmless answers to simple questions.

Let the community decide everything, not one vigilante.

I will not participate on a ladder where someone like that has administrator access. Same goes for people like redstar or protonuclear.

It's the opposite of trust.

my problem with octo is that he is a deceiver of the truth. if i do not respect or have any trust/faith in him... how can i possibly allow that person to have access to my profile on the ladder.

i have np with the hwc community.. my problem is with one person, octo, who has made a crown and surprise surprise gave it to himself.

from what i can tell he believes that his contributions add to the community.. i believe his system of codes, rules and so called ndas(hahahahhahahah) disrupts the community.

so basically if he has any sort of authority on the community's ladder then i will be content to stay unranked.

That claim is entirely inaccurate. The classic hw ladder staff handled affairs via email groups and molle, unreal and kal were in won virtually on a day to day basis. The ladder staff were active and handled all issues promptly while the player base was active. When players became less interested in laddering and games began to wane, so did the admins' activity in won. However at no stage did the admin staff shirk their responsibilities.

So octo's starting another Case's ladder !! FFS, I count 4 case's ladders for HW2 so far and there's probably more I'm unaware of and even more to come. Fact is, there's going to be a tonne of ladders for HW2 this time round and 95% of them are going to be run by players with superiority complexes who only wish to stroke their egos with a bit of mental masturbation. The remaining 5% will be run by legitimate, appropriate staff and each ladder will most likely cater for specific needs in the community.

Case's has had it's day. It's now an antiquated program with lacking features and I believe it will not cater to the needs of the next generation of HW players. There are more than a few ol'skool HW'ers who program and design that are turning the cogs on a fundamentally new way of competitive HW gaming and I'll let you in on a little secret - the 'ladder' comming out of this think tank will shit on Case's.

Let all the little 'octo's' have their ladders, as frst said, the players will vote with their feet and gravitate to the ladder which suits them best.

Frst i can completely understand where your coming from, if that is the way you feel then i don't think i can change your mind. (not about oct about the ladder)

i do really believe that having one and only one ladder would be better than having a larger number, as could be the case.

any ladder i join will be run by mature ppl with a history of being fair... and octo certainly does not have that.
